IUGG 2011 Conference Grants

IUGG and the Union Associations, along with the generosity of the State Government of Victoria and the Melbourne Convention and Visitors Bureau, will be offering limited funding to assist postgraduate students, early career scientists, and scientists from developing countries to attend IUGG 2011.


Eligibility

* Applications are open to postgraduate students, early career scientists and scientists from developing countries.
* A list of developing countries as declared by the Minister of Foreign Affairs can be found here.
* Applicants must submit an abstract for consideration within the IUGG 2011 program to be eligible for a conference grant. * * For information on how to submit an abstract please visit the below link.

Key Dates

IUGG 2011 Conference Grant applications close Monday 17 January 2011. Please note your abstract must be submitted by this date also.

Successful applicants will be notified via email on Monday 28 March 2011. If successful you will be required to complete a registration form for IUGG 2011 (to be supplied at the time of notification) and submit it by Monday 11 April 2011.

Failure to register by 11 April may result in the applicant no longer being eligible for a conference grant.


Please note – IUGG and the Union Associations provide grants to support early-bird registration in the first instance. Very limited grants, as a fixed sum of money, will be offered to cover local subsidence, e.g. food and lodging. Travel expenses will be supported exceptionally.
